When a child or young person goes missing, what they experience — and what happens when they return — truly matters.
Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council is looking for a keen, energetic and tenacious practitioner to deliver timely Return Home Conversations with children and young people across the borough.
This role is about more than asking questions. You will listen, build trust quickly and explore the factors behind a child’s experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver timely Return Home Conversations with children and young people.
- Listen carefully and build trust quickly.
- Explore the circumstances surrounding missing episodes.
- Identify potential push and pull factors.
- Assess risks and safeguarding concerns.
- Work confidently with children, families and professionals.
- Collate and record information obtained during conversations.
- Support safety planning and improved outcomes.
- Identify concerns that may not be immediately disclosed.
- Contribute to interventions designed to improve future outcomes.
