About the Role
Liverpool City Council is recruiting a Deputy Family Link Worker to join the dedicated team at Wavertree, Childwall and Dovedale Children’s Centre and Family Hub.
This is a diverse role where no two days are the same. The successful candidate will work with families and young children, helping to improve learning, development and family outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and delivering Early Learning sessions for families with children under five.
- Observing children and planning sessions to support their development and progression.
- Identifying areas where children and families may require additional support.
- Providing support within the family home.
- Helping parents strengthen existing parenting and learning skills.
- Supporting parents to create positive learning environments at home.
- Helping children prepare for nursery and school.
- Working closely with local schools, nurseries and community settings.
- Supporting children’s speech, language and communication development.
- Providing direct support to children and families experiencing a range of difficulties.
- Developing individual targeted intervention plans as part of the Early Help offer.
- Working collaboratively with families and partner agencies.
- Building trusting relationships with parents and carers.
- Facilitating parenting courses and family support programmes.
- Completing evaluation reports and case studies to demonstrate the impact of services.
- Maintaining accurate records and using information to improve service delivery.
- Providing supervision and management support.
- Supporting annual appraisals and workforce planning.
- Contributing to workforce development and training.
- Supporting the effective management of behavioural issues.

The successful candidate will receive training to deliver a range of parenting and family programmes, which may include:
