About the role

HM Land Registry is recruiting a Data & MI Analyst to join the Customer Service Group (CSG) Resource Planning function.

The successful candidates will provide management information, reporting and performance analysis to support senior leaders and operational decision-making.

The role involves developing and maintaining dashboards, reporting packs and analytical outputs, while working with stakeholders to identify trends, risks and opportunities in performance data.

The successful candidates will also contribute to improving reporting processes, data management and best practice across the Management Information team.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver management information reports, dashboards and analysis.
  • Use tools including Power BI and Excel to analyse performance data.
  • Identify trends, risks and opportunities and turn data into clear insights.
  • Prepare accurate and timely reporting packs for senior leaders.
  • Tailor reports and analysis to stakeholder requirements.
  • Apply validation and quality assurance processes to reporting.
  • Work with the SEO CSG Data Lead, senior leaders and other MI and analysis teams.
  • Support consistent management information practices across the Customer Service Group.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and development of the MI function.

Occasional travel to HM Land Registry offices, including overnight stays, may be required for cross-site meetings and stakeholder engagement.

For candidates based in the Swansea office, the ability to speak Welsh is desirable.

The post requires a minimum of 32 hours per week.

Person specification

Applicants should have experience in:

  • Developing and delivering MI reports, dashboards or analysis using tools such as Excel and Power BI.
  • Analysing data and presenting clear, impactful findings.
  • Applying validation and quality assurance techniques to ensure accuracy.
  • Providing MI or analysis to support operational or strategic decision-making.
  • Engaging with stakeholders to understand requirements and shape outputs.
  • Working effectively as part of a team and delivering work to tight deadlines.

  • Experience applying validation and quality assurance techniques to ensure accuracy.

Application and selection process

The vacancy uses the Civil Service Success Profiles framework and will assess behaviours, experience and technical skills.

Applicants must initially complete a short application form and an online Numerical Test.

Candidates who pass the online test will proceed to the next stage, which requires:

  • Technical Criteria responses
  • Personal Statement

Each technical criteria response must be no more than 250 words.

The Personal Statement must also be no more than 250 words and should demonstrate experience engaging with stakeholders to understand requirements and shape outputs.

If there is a high volume of applications, an initial sift may be conducted using the technical criterion covering experience developing and delivering MI reports, dashboards or analysis using Excel and Power BI.

Successful candidates at the shortlisting stage will be invited to a face-to-face interview, including a pre-prepared presentation/data exercise. Interviews are expected from the week commencing 2 November 2026.
