Warwick District Council is recruiting three Housing Options Officers to join its Housing Options Team and help prevent homelessness across the district.

This is a customer-focused role supporting people experiencing homelessness or housing difficulties. The successful candidates will assess individual circumstances, provide housing advice, develop personalised housing plans and work with partner organisations to help customers secure or maintain suitable accommodation.

The roles are predominantly home-based, with attendance at council offices or other sites within Warwick District required when necessary. Hybrid and office-based working options are also available.

About the Role

As a Housing Options Officer, you will be one of the first points of contact for customers facing homelessness or housing-related difficulties.

You will assess their circumstances, provide appropriate advice and support, and explore practical solutions that can help them secure or sustain accommodation.

The role involves managing a varied caseload and making decisions in accordance with homelessness legislation. You will also work closely with partner agencies and other organisations to achieve positive outcomes for customers.

Because customers may have complex and challenging circumstances, the council is looking for people who can demonstrate empathy, resilience, sound judgement, excellent organisation and strong communication skills.

Working Pattern

The post is intended to be worked predominantly from home. However, successful candidates must be able to attend Warwick District Council offices or other sites within the district when required.

Hybrid and office-based working arrangements are also available.

Where attendance at council offices or sites is required, the council states that travel costs from home to the office will be met by the successful candidate.

Candidates who successfully complete Stage 1 will progress to a formal interview.
