About the Role
The Configuration Analyst will work within the clinical systems team, supporting the configuration, development and maintenance of the Trust’s Electronic Patient Record (EPR) and other clinical systems.
The role involves working with stakeholders to understand clinical and administrative requirements and translating these into effective system configurations and improvements.
The successful candidate will also investigate complex system issues, provide technical and analytical advice, support system changes and contribute to testing and quality assurance before changes are released to users.
Key Responsibilities
The role includes:
- Configuring and supporting EPR and clinical systems.
- Investigating and resolving complex system problems.
- Supporting 1st and 2nd Line Support teams with incident resolution.
- Logging, prioritising and managing incidents through the appropriate systems.
- Working with internal stakeholders and external system suppliers.
- Analysing user requirements and translating them into system solutions.
- Maintaining accurate system configuration and support documentation.
- Testing configuration changes and supporting Change Advisory Board processes.
- Supporting system upgrades, implementation and post-implementation reviews.
- Providing reports and information relating to system usage and data quality.
- Supporting statutory, local and commissioning reporting requirements.
- Helping develop Key Performance Indicators and Critical Success Factors.
- Participating in workshops, user groups and system development meetings.
- Working with training teams to ensure staff understand system developments and changes.
- Supporting audits and acting on recommendations.

Essential Experience
Applicants should have:
- Experience supporting Trust-wide systems, including clinical systems.
- Experience communicating technical issues to non-technical staff.
- Experience working as part of a team involved with Patient Administration Systems (PAS).
- Knowledge of working practices and environments where clinical systems are used.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to respond to changing requirements.
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Experience working with external organisations regarding service issues.
- Degree-level education or equivalent knowledge gained through experience.
Desirable Experience
The Trust would also value:
- PRINCE2 Foundation.
- Experience working on PRINCE2 projects.
