About the Role

COPFS is looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused IT Service Desk Analyst to join its Information Services Division (ISD).

The division delivers secure digital services that support the organisation’s operations and help staff work efficiently. In this role, you will serve as a first point of contact for IT support, helping internal colleagues and external stakeholders resolve technical problems.

You will troubleshoot a range of hardware, software and access issues, manage incidents and service requests, and provide clear advice to users. The role also involves supporting Microsoft 365 and Active Directory environments, configuring laptops and mobile devices, and assisting with software updates and security configurations.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be expected to:

  • Provide first-line IT support by telephone and digital channels.
  • Troubleshoot hardware, software and network problems.
  • Respond to technical enquiries and resolve IT support requests.
  • Log, manage and escalate incidents and service requests in line with agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Carry out password resets, software installations and access permission changes.
  • Fulfil service requests, including equipment orders and changes to user access.
  • Set up and configure laptops, mobile devices and other onsite hardware.
  • Assist with software updates, security patches and device security configurations.
  • Keep users informed about progress and provide clear guidance throughout the support process.
  • Follow internal IT policies, procedures and service standards.
  • Undertake other duties as required by the service desk team.

Salary and Employee Benefits

The advertised salary ranges from £27,164 to £30,281 per year, with a starting salary of £27,164. The maximum salary is subject to future COPFS pay awards.
