About the Role
As the End-Stage Liver Disease Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will:
- Deliver specialist nursing care for patients with advanced liver disease.
- Lead patient assessment and care planning.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary care across hospital and community settings.
- Support advance care planning and symptom management.
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and families.
- Contribute to research, clinical audit, quality improvement, and service development.
- Deliver teaching and mentorship to nursing staff and junior clinicians.
Essential Requirements
Applicants should have:
- Current NMC registration.
- Significant post-registration experience in hepatology.
- Previous Clinical Nurse Specialist experience.
- Advanced Clinical Assessment qualification.
- Leadership experience.
- Strong communication, leadership, and clinical decision-making skills.
- Experience in audit, research, and evidence-based practice.
Desirable Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Nursing, Advanced Practice, or Hepatology.
- Non-Medical Prescribing qualification.
- Palliative Care qualification.
- Experience running nurse-led clinics.
- Service improvement and quality improvement experience.
