About the Role

As a DevOps Engineer, you will help design, build, maintain and improve cloud infrastructure and developer platforms that support one of the UK’s largest public funding services.

You’ll work within agile teams alongside architects, cybersecurity specialists and software engineers to deliver secure, scalable and highly available digital services.

The role also involves supporting the Department’s migration towards Microsoft Azure, Kubernetes (AKS), containerised platforms and modern CI/CD pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain cloud infrastructure.
  • Develop and improve CI/CD pipelines.
  • Support DevSecOps implementation.
  • Improve platform reliability and resilience.
  • Automate infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code.
  • Support migration from legacy systems to cloud-native environments.
  • Monitor production services and resolve incidents.
  • Collaborate with technical architects and cybersecurity teams.
  • Improve engineering standards and operational processes.
  • Deliver secure, scalable and cost-effective cloud solutions.

Essential Requirements

Applicants should demonstrate experience in:

  • DevOps engineering or cloud infrastructure.
  • CI/CD pipeline development.
  • Cloud platforms and infrastructure automation.
  • DevSecOps principles.
  • Security controls and vulnerability management.
  • Incident management and service improvement.
  • Supporting cloud migration projects.
  • Communicating technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Skills

Experience with any of the following will be advantageous:
