About the Role
As a Financial Investigator, you will join the SIA’s Criminal Enforcement function within the Inspections and Enforcement Directorate. You will act as the Officer in Charge (OIC), leading financial and criminal investigations from intelligence gathering through prosecution and court proceedings.
The role involves investigations under:
- Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA) 2002
- Private Security Industry Act 2001
- Fraud Act 2006
- Money laundering legislation
- Other relevant criminal legislation

Key Responsibilities
- Lead financial and criminal investigations from beginning to conclusion.
- Conduct investigations under the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA).
- Manage confiscation and restraint proceedings.
- Investigate money laundering offences.
- Gather, analyse and evaluate financial evidence.
- Apply for and execute search warrants.
- Conduct interviews in accordance with PACE.
- Prepare prosecution files and court documentation.
- Attend court hearings and provide professional evidence.
- Produce detailed investigation reports.
- Manage multiple investigations simultaneously.
- Work closely with police forces, government agencies and enforcement partners.
- Maintain accurate investigation records.
- Support wider criminal enforcement operations.

Essential Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Current NCA Accredited Financial Investigator status or accreditation that expired within the last three years.
- Practical experience with confiscation and restraint proceedings.
- Experience obtaining and executing warrants.
- Strong knowledge of the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA).
- Excellent investigative, analytical and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to independently manage complex investigations.
- Strong organisational and case management skills.
- Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.

- Access to a personal vehicle.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience working within the public sector.

Travel Requirements
Although this is a home-based role, successful applicants must be willing to travel throughout the UK. The position includes occasional overnight stays, five weeks of in-person induction training during the first six months, and all approved business travel expenses are fully reimbursed.

Security Clearance
