About the Role
The Housekeeping Department is seeking dedicated Cleaning Assistants to maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout Salisbury District Hospital. You will clean both clinical and non-clinical areas, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment for patients, visitors, and staff while supporting infection prevention and control.
Flexible working options may be considered depending on service requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean wards, departments, offices, and public areas.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness.
- Follow NHS Trust cleaning policies and procedures.
- Use colour-coded cleaning equipment correctly.
- Store and replenish cleaning supplies safely.
- Carry out deep cleaning and periodic floor maintenance.
- Set up and use HPV cleaning equipment where required.
- Support infection prevention and control measures.
- Follow all health and safety procedures.
Essential Requirements
Applicants should have:
- Good understanding of English.
- NVQ Level 2 in Cleaning (or willingness to obtain it), or equivalent experience.
- Experience working in a customer-facing role.
- Basic computer keyboard skills.
Desirable Experience
- Hospital cleaning.
- Domestic cleaning.
- End-of-tenancy cleaning.
- Professional housekeeping experience.
