About the Role
Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council is recruiting a Service Support Assistant – SEWAS to join the South East Wales Adoption Service (SEWAS) at Mamhilad.
This is a permanent, part-time position working 22.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to work from the SEWAS office for a minimum of one day per week, with the remaining working arrangement described as remote.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Maintaining electronic filing systems and databases, including Civica and WCCIS.
- Coordinating complex meetings relating to adoption, including Adoption Panels.
- Taking and transcribing minutes from meetings in a timely manner.
- Providing administrative support within a busy adoption service.
- Working independently and meeting required deadlines and timescales.
Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Experience carrying out administrative duties in an office environment.
- The ability to work on their own initiative.
- The ability to meet deadlines and timescales.
- 5 GCSEs at grades A–C or equivalent.
- Typing or keyboarding skills.
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent is desirable, although a commitment to working towards achieving NVQ Level 3 will also be considered.
