About the Role

As the People and Families Support Officer, you will provide welfare support and community services to personnel and their families while working closely with military leaders, MOD Civil Servants, welfare teams, and external organisations.

This is a people-focused role requiring excellent communication, relationship-building, and organisational skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate parenting and family welfare arrangements.
  • Manage Service Level Agreements with childcare providers.
  • Liaise with military chaplains (Padres) to support wellbeing initiatives.
  • Maintain HIVE information on housing, education, and welfare services.
  • Manage low-value purchasing in line with MOD financial regulations.
  • Produce internal communications and coordinate external messaging.
  • Build partnerships with charities, local authorities, and community organisations.
  • Deliver community development initiatives to improve morale.
  • Act as the primary welfare contact for Squadron personnel.
  • Work closely with SSAFA to provide support for service families.
  • Support organisational change and contract renewal activities.
