About the Role

This is a fast-moving support position within Cabinet Office Digital, providing high-level administrative and organisational support to senior digital leaders.

The successful candidate will gain exposure to senior-level decision-making across the Cabinet Office Digital function and wider government. The role also involves working with confidential and sensitive information on Cabinet Office systems.

Key Responsibilities

The Digital Operations Support Officer will:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with offices of senior civil servants and senior digital and technology professionals.
  • Manage complex and constantly changing diaries.
  • Balance competing priorities and optimise senior leaders’ time.
  • Manage diary requests and invitations promptly and professionally.
  • Use sound judgement to prioritise meetings where diary clashes occur.
  • Prepare diary briefs and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate agendas, meetings, travel itineraries, accommodation and meeting-room bookings.
  • Support administrative and corporate processes.
  • Monitor incoming emails and identify urgent issues.
  • Draft professional responses on behalf of senior leaders.
  • Delegate actions to relevant teams where appropriate.
  • Build effective relationships across Cabinet Office Digital and wider government.
  • Handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.

Essential Requirements

Applicants should demonstrate:

  • Proven experience supporting senior executives or officials in a fast-paced and complex environment.
  • Ideally, experience within government or the public sector.
  • Excellent drafting and editing skills.

Working Arrangement

Cabinet Office policy requires a minimum of 60% of working time to be spent at the employee’s principal workplace.

Depending on the nature of the role and business requirements, attendance may be required up to 100%.

The role is full-time.

National: £30,768–£32,622
London: £35,479–£37,121

New entrants are normally expected to join at the minimum of the applicable pay band.

The Cabinet Office contributes 28.97% towards the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension Scheme.
