About the Role

The Ministry of Justice is seeking experienced and organised Project Support Officers to help deliver major programmes across the justice system.

Successful applicants will become part of the Ministry’s Project Delivery Function, supporting Project Managers with planning, reporting, governance, stakeholder management, financial monitoring, risk management, and project administration.

Candidates will be assigned to projects based on business needs and are expected to remain in the role for a minimum of 18 months.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support Project Managers in delivering major programmes.
  • Coordinate project planning and scheduling activities.
  • Monitor project progress and prepare performance reports.
  • Maintain project documentation and governance records.
  • Organise meetings and produce accurate meeting minutes.
  • Monitor budgets and project expenditure.
  • Manage project risks and issues.
  • Support workforce planning and resource management.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Use Microsoft Office and digital reporting tools.
  • Line manage project delivery professionals where required.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience supporting projects within structured environments.
  • Experience working with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • Good Microsoft Office skills.
  • Knowledge of project management processes.

Office Attendance

This is not a home-working contract.

Employees are expected to attend an MoJ office at least two days each week, with additional travel required to project locations where necessary.

  • In-Tray Exercise before interview
  • Technical competency interview
