Job Overview

ICF is hiring a Junior Data Curator / Data Operator to support the review, maintenance, and quality management of biomedical publication records within a specialized data management system.

The role involves citation review, metadata validation, data entry, records maintenance, and applying established data-management guidelines to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of biomedical publication records.

This is a remote, full-time opportunity for candidates with experience in data entry, administrative support, records management, database systems, spreadsheets, or data review.

Key Responsibilities

As a Junior Data Curator / Data Operator, your responsibilities may include:

• Reviewing bibliographic citations and online journal content for accuracy and completeness.
• Checking citations for required data elements.
• Validating and updating citation metadata according to established procedures and project-specific guidance.
• Reviewing editing notes and applying relevant project instructions.
• Identifying research funding support and grant-related information.
• Recording funding agency information and grant numbers when available.
• Reviewing articles for secondary source identifiers.
• Identifying data repository references.
• Checking for clinical trial registration numbers.
• Identifying citations that require deletion or correction.
• Correctly designating and linking related records.
• Adding missing metadata and completing incomplete records.
• Completing assigned citation review workloads within productivity and quality expectations.
• Following required security procedures and system-access requirements.
• Completing project and system training as required.
• Communicating questions, issues, and workflow barriers to project leadership promptly.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates should meet the following minimum requirements:

• High school diploma with 2+ years of relevant administrative, data entry, records management, or data review experience; or
• Bachelor’s degree in any field.
• At least 1 year of experience using databases, spreadsheets, web-based systems, or data management tools.
