Job Summary

The Container Platform Engineer will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of enterprise Red Hat OpenShift container platforms.

The role covers cluster provisioning, security, automation, workload onboarding, monitoring, disaster recovery, upgrades, and continuous platform improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, provision, and operate Red Hat OpenShift clusters.
  • Support on-premises, virtualized, and cloud environments.
  • Design highly available, scalable, and secure platforms.
  • Implement multi-tenant OpenShift environments.
  • Configure RBAC, network policies, quotas, and security controls.
  • Automate cluster installation, upgrades, scaling, and decommissioning.
  • Implement GitOps using Argo CD and OpenShift GitOps.
  • Support application onboarding and developer self-service.
  • Manage OpenShift networking, ingress, routes, and network policies.
  • Manage block, file, and object storage.
  • Implement monitoring, logging, and tracing.
  • Support Prometheus, Grafana, EFK, and Tempo.
  • Integrate platforms with SIEM and APM tools.
  • Implement container image scanning and security controls.
  • Develop CI/CD pipelines using Tekton, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Argo Workflows.
  • Develop disaster-recovery and backup strategies.
  • Plan and execute OpenShift upgrades.
  • Optimize workload resources and cluster autoscaling.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide OpenShift expertise.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years operating production container platforms.
  • 3+ years of Red Hat OpenShift experience.
  • Strong Kubernetes and OpenShift knowledge.
  • Experience with Operators, CRDs, RBAC, and networking.
  • Strong Linux administration skills.
  • Experience with Ansible, Terraform, Helm, or similar IaC tools.
  • CI/CD experience with OpenShift or Kubernetes.
  • Experience with Tekton, Jenkins, or Argo CD.
  • Strong Bash, Python, or Go scripting skills.
  • Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and tracing.
  • Understanding of container image security.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration.
  • Architect-level Red Hat certification.
  • OpenShift experience on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
