The role is primarily home-based, with one day per week working from the BPAS London office.
About the Role
The Media and Campaigns Assistant will provide operational and administrative support across media relations, campaign delivery, supporter engagement and fundraising administration.
The role provides an opportunity to develop experience in communications, campaigning, media relations, fundraising, supporter engagement and digital communications.
Main Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day operation of the press office.
- Monitor media activity.
- Maintain media contacts, supporter records and campaign databases.
- Build, schedule and analyse email campaigns using Mailchimp.
- Support audience segmentation and A/B testing.
- Support campaign planning, delivery and evaluation.
- Assist with campaign events and supporter engagement.
- Work across Communications, Campaigns, Advocacy and Fundraising.
- Monitor campaign and fundraising performance.
- Produce reports and insights.
- Respond to donor enquiries.
- Support supporter care and stewardship.
- Provide administrative support for fundraising initiatives.
- Support wider team activities.
Candidate Requirements
Applicants should have experience in communications, campaigning, media, fundraising or supporter engagement, together with professional administrative experience.
You should have:
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Good attention to detail.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Confidence using digital communications tools.
- Experience with databases and email platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to analyse information and produce clear reports.
- A proactive and flexible approach.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Understanding of media, campaigning and supporter engagement.
Essential Knowledge and Skills
- Good understanding of media, campaigning and supporter engagement.
- Understanding of women’s reproductive rights and the wider policy landscape.
- Strong writing and communication skills.
- Ability to draft clear, engaging and accurate external content.
Essential Experience
- Experience in communications, campaigning, media, fundraising or supporter engagement.
- Experience providing administrative support in a professional environment.
- Confidence using email platforms, databases and social media scheduling systems.
Desirable Experience

Qualifications
Applicants should be educated to relevant degree, NVQ, HNC, HND or foundation degree level, or have equivalent professional experience.
