Staffordshire County Council is recruiting School Crossing Patrols and Relief School Crossing Patrols across Staffordshire.
The role involves helping school children and pedestrians safely cross the road during their journey to and from school.
The vacancies are term-time only and may suit applicants looking for part-time work while having school holidays available.
Working Hours
School Crossing Patrols normally operate twice daily during term time.
Typical duty periods are:
- 7:30am – 9:00am
- 2:30pm – 4:00pm
Individual duties can last between approximately 30 minutes and 1 hour, depending on the crossing location. Some locations may have operating times outside the usual periods.
Successful candidates will receive full training and a uniform, with payment made throughout the year.
A pre-employment health assessment through Staffordshire County Council’s Occupational Health Department is also required.

The vacancies are for Staffordshire only and do not include Stoke-on-Trent.
A vehicle is not essential for the School Crossing Patrol or Relief School Crossing Patrol roles.
Requirements
The council is looking for applicants who can demonstrate:
