Role of the Job
The Technical Data Product Manager will own and scale Forbes Advisor’s internal Revenue Attribution Pipeline — the data product that powers insights across marketing, monetization, and partner strategy. This role combines strong technical fluency, business understanding, and stakeholder collaboration to improve data-driven decision-making.
Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the strategy for the revenue attribution pipeline to ensure scalability and accuracy.
- Define and maintain a clear roadmap of technical upgrades and new use cases aligned with business goals.
- Collect and synthesize requirements from RevOps, Paid Media, and GM teams into actionable product specs.
- Write clear schema documentation, logic, and requirements for data engineers.
- Coordinate delivery across Engineering, Data Ops, and RevOps to meet sprint timelines.
- Communicate proactively with business stakeholders about updates and improvements.
- Promote adoption of attribution data within business decision-making workflows.
- Identify adoption gaps and develop strategies to close them.
- Collaborate with leadership to define next-generation attribution use cases.
- Contribute to the long-term vision for attribution in a privacy-focused, ML-driven environment.
Requirement
- Experience in attribution, revenue modeling, or marketing performance data products.
- Fluency in SQL, data modeling, and business logic, with the ability to write detailed technical specifications.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to operate in cross-functional, matrixed environments.
- Strategic mindset with a balance between short-term delivery and long-term planning.
- Experience with GCP (BigQuery, Cloud Composer, Cloud Functions) is a plus.
- Familiarity with marketing data, paid media platforms, and RevOps workflows preferred.
- Exposure to ML use cases such as modeled revenue or lifetime value is advantageous.
