ASEL is recruiting a Security Officer to join its retail security team in Glasgow. This permanent opportunity is ideal for candidates with a valid SIA licence who are looking to build a long-term career in the UK’s security industry.

Salary

• £13.45 per hour
• Permanent employment
• 50 hours per week

Shift Pattern

• Tuesday: 2:30 pm – 10:00 pm
• Wednesday & Thursday: 1:15 pm – 10:00 pm
• Friday & Saturday: 1:00 pm – 10:00 pm
• Sunday: 1:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Key Responsibilities

• Patrol the retail store to deter theft and criminal activity.
• Provide a visible security presence.
• Assess and reduce security risks.
• Respond to incidents professionally.
• Prepare detailed incident reports using digital devices.
• Liaise with store management and local authorities.
• Conduct colleague and contractor searches when required.
• Support vulnerable individuals with professionalism and empathy.

Requirements

• Valid SIA Security Guarding Licence or SIA Door Supervisor Licence (required).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Customer-focused attitude.
• Retail security experience is an advantage but full training is provided.
• Ability to provide a 5-year checkable employment or education history.
• Right to work in the UK.
