About the Role
The Recovery Support Worker will work within the Forensic Outreach Service, supporting people with mental health needs who are living in the community and are under the criminal justice system.
You will work closely with:

- Other multidisciplinary team members
The role provides an opportunity to develop autonomy while working within a supportive multidisciplinary team.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide practical and recovery-focused support to service users and carers.
- Deliver recovery-focused interventions in line with care plans.
- Facilitate and co-facilitate community-based groups.
- Support service users with social inclusion activities.
- Help service users develop daily living skills.
- Support people to access employment, education and college opportunities.
- Encourage participation in leisure and community activities.
- Support access to physical healthcare services.
- Assist service users with benefits and welfare resources.
- Support participation in fitness, gym and sports activities.
- Work with service users in community settings, hostels, hospitals and their homes.
- Develop links with community resources.
- Build professional and therapeutic relationships.
- Promote dignity, independence and independent living.
- Monitor progress, functioning and mental state.
- Identify early signs of relapse and report concerns appropriately.
- Participate in team meetings, care-plan reviews and training.
- Carry out appropriate risk assessments.

The Trust is looking for people who can contribute creative ideas for engaging service users in community activities.
Essential Qualifications
Applicants should have:
- GCSE-level education or equivalent, with at least five A–E qualifications including Maths and English.
- NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care or equivalent, plus further study/training to diploma level or NVQ Level 4 in Mental Health and/or the WLMHT Assistant Practitioner Course.
Equivalent experience may be considered.
The Care Certificate must be completed within six months of starting the role.
Essential Experience
Candidates should demonstrate:
- Experience of mental health services or a demonstrable interest in mental health through paid or voluntary work.
- Understanding of factors affecting mental health.
- Understanding of relevant mental health interventions.
- Experience developing relationships with different people and organisations.
