Job Overview

Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Housekeeping Operations Manager to provide senior operational leadership across its housekeeping and rapid response services.

The successful candidate will be responsible for interpreting legal requirements and national housekeeping policies and translating them into effective operational practices that ensure Trust sites remain compliant.

This is a senior leadership position requiring extensive experience in housekeeping, facilities, estates, infrastructure or a comparable complex operational environment.

About the Role

The Housekeeping Operations Manager will provide strategic and operational leadership for housekeeping and rapid response services across the entire Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust estate.

The post holder will lead the implementation of the housekeeping strategy, provide expert operational advice and work closely with clinical groups, delivery groups, internal stakeholders, external partners and other relevant stakeholders.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Implement housekeeping standards and operating procedures across the Trust estate.
  • Lead housekeeping and rapid response services across GSTT locations.
  • Lead a site-based management team overseeing nearly 700 staff.
  • Deliver agreed financial and non-financial operational performance targets.
  • Ensure compliance with Financial and Procurement Regulations.
  • Monitor and review services continuously.
  • Identify and implement service improvements.
  • Improve operational and financial efficiency.
  • Deliver value for money within allocated budgets.
  • Respond to changing business and operational requirements.
  • Provide expert advice on housekeeping operations.
  • Work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and national housekeeping requirements.

  • Working within Estates, Facilities, infrastructure or an equivalent complex operational environment.
  • Managing housekeeping services in a complex NHS environment.
