About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Technical and Commercial Manager within Capital Projects, you will support the delivery of key residential-led development projects.

The role involves working alongside technical specialists to help derisk and unlock land through technical and commercial advice relating to enabling works, infrastructure, capital projects and contract management.

You will support and manage a range of enabling and infrastructure works designed to facilitate housing-led development.

The role will also contribute to the wider delivery functions of the Capital Projects team, including monthly project reporting, monitoring programme risks and deliverables, and supporting health and safety responsibilities.

This is an opportunity to contribute to residential infrastructure development within Homes England, working with key stakeholders and a professional technical team to identify and resolve technical and commercial issues across a portfolio of development sites.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include supporting:

  • Delivery of enabling and infrastructure works for residential-led developments.
  • Technical and commercial management of capital projects.
  • Identification and resolution of technical and commercial issues.
  • Project reporting and coordination of monthly reports.
  • Monitoring project programmes, risks and deliverables.
  • Health and safety responsibilities across projects.
  • Preparation and review of technical scopes and works information.
  • Preparation and review of tender documentation.
  • Cost-effective solutions for enabling and infrastructure works.
  • Contract management and project delivery activities.
  • Coordination with technical specialists, stakeholders and project teams.

The enabling works may include demolition, remediation, earthworks, site clearance and temporary works.

Infrastructure works may include highways, drainage, utilities, structures, landscaping and ecological mitigation.

Requirements / Person Specification

Applicants should have:

  • A degree or qualification in engineering, construction, surveying or a related technical discipline.
  • Some experience in project management and/or cost management.
  • Experience relating to construction, infrastructure works or housing projects.
  • Awareness of construction contracts, including NEC and JCT.
  • The ability to contribute to technical scopes, works information and tender documentation.
  • An understanding of enabling and infrastructure works.
  • The ability to support several projects and address technical issues.
  • The ability to identify cost-effective solutions that help unlock and deliver infrastructure and enabling works.

The salary for the role is £34,487 – £40,222 per year.

Working Pattern

This is a full-time, permanent position working 35 hours per week.
