About IPSA
The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) regulates MPs’ business costs and administers the pay and pensions of Members of Parliament and their staff across the UK.
As a Payroll Services Officer, you’ll ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time while delivering outstanding support to MPs and their employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Process payroll accurately and on schedule.
- Respond to payroll enquiries by phone and email.
- Maintain payroll records in line with HMRC legislation.
- Support payroll system testing and continuous improvement.
- Administer pension auto-enrolment requirements.
- Monitor staffing budgets and payroll expenditure.
- Deliver payroll guidance and training to MPs and their offices.
- Produce payroll reports and maintain data accuracy.
- Work collaboratively to deliver excellent customer service.
- Contribute to operational improvements across the payroll function.
Essential Requirements
Applicants should have:
- Associate-level (or above) Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals (CIPP) qualification.
- Proven payroll processing experience within a complex organisation.
- Strong knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance, HMRC legislation, statutory payments, and pension auto-enrolment.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Excellent teamwork and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Skills
- Presentation or training experience.
- Experience using Business World (Agresso).
- Familiarity with CRM systems.
