About Scottish Forestry

Scottish Forestry is responsible for regulating, supporting and promoting sustainable forestry across Scotland. The Grampian Conservancy covers a diverse geographical area, including the Howe of the Mearns, Deeside, Buchan Plains, Moray, and surrounding hills and mountains.

About the Role

As a Case Support Officer, you will provide essential administrative support to the Grants and Regulations Team.

Your primary responsibility will be processing forestry-related applications while ensuring records are maintained accurately and customers receive an excellent service. The role combines administration, customer service, finance support, record management, and office coordination.

This position is based in Huntly, Scotland, operating on a hybrid working arrangement with a minimum of two office days each week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process Forestry Grant Scheme (FGS) applications.
  • Support Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) screening requests.
  • Process Felling Permission applications within customer charter timescales.
  • Support Forest Plan administration.
  • Maintain accurate electronic and paper records.
  • Use internal IT systems to manage applications.
  • Respond to enquiries from applicants, forestry agents, and members of the public.
  • Provide administrative support across the Operations Team.
  • Process invoices and supplier information.
  • Assist with finance administration.
  • Support day-to-day office operations.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Conservancy.

Essential Requirements

Applicants should have:

  • Experience working in an office or administrative environment.
  • Experience supporting internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong organisational and workload management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Experience maintaining accurate records.
  • Good IT skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Microsoft Word.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Hybrid Working
